The Epilepsy Foundation of New Jersey (EFNJ) will host the 3rd Annual Paint the Pony Purple benefit concert at The Stone Pony on Sunday, March 30th. This all-ages event will raise necessary funds to continue the agency’s programs and services that spread knowledge and awareness of epilepsy and improve the quality of life of those living with the condition in New Jersey.
The event will welcome hundreds of families, supporters and music-lovers to enjoy entertainment while promoting epilepsy awareness. The event will run from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tickets may be purchased for $20 at www.efnj.com/purple or via telephone at (800) 336-5843. Last year’s event raised over $10,000 through ticket and merchandise sales in a few short hours. This year will feature well-loved NJ performers including: enjoy!, The RockNRoll Chorus, Laura Cheadle Family Band, Sofia Nicole and Chelsea Palermo.
This event will participate as part of a larger, national awareness effort for epilepsy, demonstrated by a series of coordinated concerts across the country during the period of March 21st to 30th. This effort, coined “50 Concerts in 50 States”, is spearheaded by epilepsy advocate Eric Miller of Pennington, NJ and motivated by his wife’s sudden death from epilepsy in August of 2011. Last year’s effort boasted 114 events in all 50 states. Each scheduled event, including Paint the Pony Purple, will have volunteers from one of the national Epilepsy Foundation’s local affiliates or other local partners on site to collect donations and distribute information.
